ABOUT US
Described as “BC’s most exciting Newgrass band,” The Unfaithful Servants have carved a name for themselves as one of Canada’s most acclaimed acoustic acts. With explosive instrumentals, compelling story-telling, and high-powered vocals, they deliver a modern edge on folk, bluegrass, and Americana.
According to Kelly Nakatsuka, CBC/Islands Folk Festival “The Unfaithful Servants are one of the most exciting bands from Vancouver Island in some time...gorgeous harmonies and fine song writing, beautiful instrumental interplay and some seriously rippin' solos."
The bands sophomore record Fallen Angel (October 2025) represents an exciting new chapter for the group. Following their 2019 Self-Titled debut album which was nominated for New Group Of the Year at Canadian Folk Music Awards and was produced by Grammy Award-winner Steve Smith, The Servants spent time writing, touring, and evolving their sound. The result is a collection of songs that highlight raw emotion, intricate arrangements, and the fiery instrumentals they are known for. Produced by Adrian Dolan (The Wailin’ Jennys, The Bills), Fallen Angel showcases a band at the height of its powers — a record that distills the very essence of The Unfaithful Servants’ sound.
“Fallen Angel is a towering success, solidifying The Unfaithful Servants’ position not just as a leading act in the Canadian Americana scene, but as an essential voice in modern Newgrass.” -Country Music News
Their resume includes acclaimed festival appearances (Vancouver Island MusicFest, Salmon Arm Roots & Blues, Islands Folk Fest) and now, with the release of their new album Fallen Angel, the band is poised to take another bold artistic step forward.
The Unfaithful Servants are anchored by the virtuosic mandolin playing of Jesse Cobb—who has performed with Béla Fleck, David Grisman, Dierks Bentley, and Lee Ann Womack, and held residency at the Grand Ole Opry—and the prolific songwriting of Dylan Stone, who has shared stages with Keith Urban, Robert Randolph, Colin James, and Lou Reed. The group has evolved into a powerhouse quartet, joined by young fiddle prodigy Quin Etheridge-Pedden, who, even in his teens, performed with renowned Canadian artists Daniel Lapp and Marc Atkinson. The lineup is rounded out by bassist Mark Johnson, whose jazz and American roots background adds depth, drive, and groove to the band’s dynamic sound.
With their new album Fallen Angel earning critical acclaim and their reputation as one of Canada’s most exciting acoustic bands firmly established, The Unfaithful Servants continue to push their artistry forward. Armed with world-class musicianship, compelling songwriting, and a thrilling live show, the quartet stands poised for an exciting year to come.
